Founded in 2025, Contra Publishing was born from a desire to create books that challenge convention and celebrate culture with depth, beauty, and independence. We are a boutique publishing house dedicated to producing works that live at the intersection of art, history, and storytelling projects that are as timeless in design as they are resonant in meaning.
Our debut title, Comme Un Dieu by photographer Federico Pompei, set the tone for our vision. More than just a photobook, it is a meditation on heritage, myth, and the rituals of the Camargue an example of how we aim to publish works that transcend documentation to become cultural artifacts in their own right.
